Submission Guidelines
We seek submissions from our readers that reflect the positive aspects of rural life in America without being Pollyanna or maudlin. Manuscripts can reflect serious subject matter as well as informational and humorous pieces. No pornographic material will be accepted, as well as material that is overtly political or religious. Writing should reflect real-life situations, not fantasy or science fiction, but can be based on traditional folklore.
The types of manuscripts we are interested in include fiction, poetry, essays reflecting on aspects of rural life and lore, articles about unique people or places in rural America. We will also consider pieces on such topics as cooking or craft if they are written in an engaging style.
Manuscripts should be submitted in Microsoft Word format and emailed to:

Photographs and artwork should be submitted in jpeg format. Photos and artwork will be archived for use as needed. Please indicate a use expiration date if so desired.
